"Ng Teng Fong • Sino Group Belt and Road Research Institute" Naming Right Donation Agreement Signing Ceremony at Hong Kong Chu Hai College

Hong Kong Chu Hai College held a signing ceremony for the naming donation of the "Ng Teng Fong • Sino Group Belt and Road Research Institute" on 15 December. This naming is in recognition and appreciation of the donation from the Ng Teng Fong Charitable Foundation, which donated 20 million Hong Kong dollars to support the College's educational and research development.

The ceremony was attended by Mr. Lam Kwong Siu, Chairman of Board of Governors of Hong Kong Chu Hai College, Mr. Alexander Ng, Director of Ng Teng Fong Charitable Foundation and General Manager of Sino Group, Ms. Wong Yeuk Hung, General Manager (China Business) of Sino Land Company Limited, Ms. Jane Zhang, Member of Board of Governors and Executive Vice President of Hong Kong Chu Hai College, Mr. Chen Liangyong, Member of Board of Governors, and Prof. Chan Man Hung, Director of One Belt One Road Research Institute.


Ms Jane Zhang, Member of Board of Governors and Executive Vice President of Hong Kong Chu Hai College, expressed sincere appreciation for the support of the Ng Teng Fong Charitable Foundation to the College.

Ms. Jane Zhang expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Ng Teng Fong Charitable Foundation for their invaluable support to the college. In her welcome address, she stated, " The naming right donation agreement we are signing today represents a new milestone of collaboration between the Foundation and the College. I truly trust that it will spark an enduring partnership, where we seize opportunities from the Greater Bay Area and Belt and Road Initiative to nurture talent with international perspectives, integrated knowledge and skills to meet the needs of society."


Prof. Chan Man Hung, Director of One Belt One Road Research Institute at Hong Kong Chu Hai College, stated that the institute aims to promote Hong Kong as the hub of Belt and Road globalization.

Prof. Chan Man Hung emphasised that Hong Kong is the global financial centre, with the potential to be the hub of Belt and Road globalization. The mission of the One Belt One Road Research Institute is to support Hong Kong in achieving this objective through education, research, and promotion. Prof. Chan emphasised that the new institute will persistently strive to meet the expectations of the donor.


Mr. Lam Kwong Siu, Chairman of Board of Governors of Hong Kong Chu Hai College, and Ms. Wong Yeuk Hung, General Manager (China Business) of Sino Land Company Limited, witnessed the signing of the "Ng Teng Fong • Sino Group Belt and Road Research Institute" naming donation agreement by Mr. Alexander Ng, Director of Ng Teng Fong Charitable Foundation and General Manager of Sino Group, and Ms Jane Zhang, Member of Board of Governors and Executive Vice President of Hong Kong Chu Hai College.

In the presence of Chairman Lam Kwong Siu, Ms. Wong Yeuk Hung, and guests, Mr. Alexander Ng and Ms. Jane Zhang signed the donation agreement on behalf of their respective parties. Chairman Lam and Ms. Zhang then presented commemorative gifts to Mr. Ng and Ms. Wong as a gesture of gratitude.

In its 10th anniversary, the Belt and Road Initiative, proposed by President Xi Jinping, aims to build a shared future for humanity and promote high-quality development. Founded in 2017, Hong Kong Chu Hai College's One Belt One Road Research Institute is committed to researching various aspects of the Belt and Road strategy and nurturing global talents. Over the years, the Institute has actively engaged in research projects with the government and business sectors. It has also organized a series of conferences, seminars, and workshops related to the Belt and Road Initiative. Furthermore, the Institute offers specialised programmes, such as the “Master of Social Sciences in International Business Management for Belt and Road Countries” and the “Master of Social Sciences in International Relations for Belt and Road Countries”, providing a platform for students, scholars, and professionals to gain comprehensive insights into the initiative.

The Ng Teng Fong Charitable Foundation actively supports the Belt and Road Initiative and educational development, which aligns with the educational mission of Hong Kong Chu Hai College. Through this naming donation, both parties will enhance their collaboration to advance academic research and cultivate talent, making significant contributions to society.
