08-06,2021

The four-year college life passes in a blink of an eye, and it’s time for graduation! Chu Hai College just held its 71st Commencement in the College Hall today (Saturday, 7 August 2021). A total of 314 students graduated from the College this year, including 151 Master's degree graduates and 163 Bachelor's degree graduates.

When College President Professor LEE Chack Fan delivered his speech, he mentioned, “Today marks the official beginning of autumn. This is the harvest season for farmers, and it is also a day that commemorates the successful completion of studies for the students.” Professor LEE also expressed that due to the epidemic, graduates have experienced many difficulties and inconveniences in their course of study. Yet, despite all the challenges, it is gratifying to see that they managed to complete their studies and graduate. Apart from the encouragement and guidance rendered by their teachers, they need to thank their family for their support and care all along. Last but not least, on behalf of all the teachers, Professor LEE wished the graduates all the best and a great future!

At the ceremony, the Master’s degree graduates were conferred by Dr. LAU Ching Kwong, the College’s Governor (alumnus), and the Bachelor degree students by the Vice-President (Academic) Professor Chiu Kay TANG. Professor LEE Chack Fan also presented the President’s List Award to students who excelled both in academic performance and character development.

This year, the Ceremony welcomed family and friends of the graduates. Everyone respected social distancing as epidemic prevention is paramount! The College arranged for some giant photo frames to be available at the campus. The graduates and their family and friends posed themselves within the giant photo frames for snapshots before and after the ceremony. The Commencement concluded in a jovial atmosphere.
